Distance & Open Learning is a distinct approach to impart education to learners who are removed in space and / or time from the teachers or the teaching institution on account of economic, social and consideration. A need for such an approach was felt by the University of Mumbai and hence it established the Directorate of Correspondence Courses in the year 1971-72. In the year 1993, the Directorate of Distance Education was upgraded as ‘Institute of Distance Education’ It thus acquired a status as a ‘University Institution’.

State level Innovative Farmers’ Meet-2011

 State level Innovative Farmers’ Meet-2011 will be held during 29thto 30th

September  -2011 by  Soil & Water Management Department and Krishi 

Vigyan Kendra, NAU, Navsari. The meet venue is seminar Hall of N. M. 

College of Agriculture, NAU, Navsari. 

 The meet will be inaugurated at 9.30 am on 29/09/2011 in the solemn 

presence of Honorable Vice Chancellor, NAU, Navsari, Honorable Collector, 

Navsari and District Development officer, Navsari

 About 150 Innovative farmers from different districts of Gujarat  will meet 

together during this meet. They will exchange their innovations as well as 

new idea regarding agriculture between them. 

 Best three innovations among them will be selected by the team NAU 

scientists.  These three best innovations will be honored prizes.
