| Dhrupad Sansar was started by Cell for Human Values , IIT Bombay the aim being to create an appreciation about Indian Music and Culture within the Staff and Students. Dhrupad is one of the oldest known form of Indian Classical Music and is regarded as the very foundation of Indian Classical Music. The nature of Dhrupad music is spiritual. Seeking not to entertain, but to induce feelings of peace and contemplation in the listener. The word Dhrupad is derived from DHRUVA the steadfast evening star that moves through our galaxy and PADA meaning poetry. |
