Road, Joka, Kolkata - 104 invites application in plain papers from intending agencies for pre-qualification of contractors to carry out “Heat Ventilation & Air Conditioning System and allied electrical works for newly constructed Executive Hostel Building at IIMC campus”. Intending contractors having adequate experience and excellent track records in the field of HVAC works are requested to furnish the details regarding their Company, Organization Chart, Experience along with copies of credentials, copies of audited balance sheet for last three years and solvency certificates from the bankers. The estimated cost of the work is Rs. 403.63 lakh (approximate) Contractors having credentials of minimum Rs. 350 lakh in single work order and execution experience of Rs. 1000 lakh in the last three consecutive years for similar nature of work are eligible to apply for pre-qualification. - Advertisement for the Position of Research AssociateAnnouncement Date :18-10-2011Applications are invited for the following positions. Research Associate (2 positions) Essential Qualification: Master’s Degree or Equivalent in Social Science (Economics, Sociology, Anthropology etc.) Desirable: Interest in, exposure to, and experience in agriculture and rural India Sr. Research Associate (1 position) Essential Qualification: Ph.D. or Equivalent in Social Science (Economics, Sociology, Anthropology etc.) Desirable: Interest in, exposure to, and experience in agriculture and rural India Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The selection will be based on an interview to be held at IIM Calcutta in early November. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. Short listed candidates will be informed about the date and place of the interview. The positions are purely temporary, till March 2012, although they could be extended by 6 months, depending on continuation of the project and individual performance. - Obituary: Srinath DamarlaAnnouncement Date :14-10-201101.08.1985 - 06.10.2011 "Absence diminishes little passions and increases great ones just as the wind blows out a candle and fans a fire." On the morning of 6th October, 2011, the IIM Calcutta family was dealt a serious shock when they learnt that Srinath Damarla has passed away on his way back from Dzongri. Srinath Damarla was a 2nd year student in the PGDM program at IIM Calcutta. He was part of a 40 member trek team comprising of IIM C students on their way from Yuksum to Dzongri in Sikkim. However he decided to return back from the trek after complaining of dizziness and body weakness. Around 9:00 AM on 6th October, he collapsed and died due to altitude sickness. Srinath was a very cheerful and charming individual, greeting everyone with a smile. He had carried out various responsibilities on campus with a lot of poise and competence and his demise has left a void in the life of every member of the IIM Calcutta family. He was the campus Placement Representative and many people will be ever grateful for his stellar work in ensuring successful placements at IIM C. He will be remembered the most for his undying enthusiasm and joyful disposition that endeared him to all the people he met. We pray his soul finds peace. Srinath is survived by his his father Mr. Koti Nageswara Rao Damarla, mother Mrs. Rajyalakshmi Damarla and younger brother Sunil Nat Damarla. The entire IIMC family share their grief and pray that God may give them the strength to endure this terrible loss.
