Scholarships

Scholarships & Financial Support:
The University offers a number of scholarships, postgraduate, M.Phil and Ph.D students. Most of these scholarships are merit based. However, support is also available to students belonging to economically weaker sections of the society through the Students Aid Fund. The office of the Dean, Students' Welfare also processes various scholarships instituted by state governments for students belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes as well as those instituted by Private Trusts and Foundations. Further details of these scholarships are available on the university website as also with the office of the Dean, Students' Welfare.
Merit cum Means Scholarships:
The Institute will be providing the following scholarships(Rs. 500/- per Month) to the exceptionally meritorious students on the basis of their performance in the semester examination as well as other criteria to be prescribed from time to time.
  • Prof Qoumrul Hoque Memorial Scholarship: (One in Each Department)
  • Prof. S.D Phukan Memorial Scholarship: (1)
  • Lachit Borphukan Scholarship: (For Assam Student)
  • U. Kiang Nongbah Scholarship: (For Meghalaya Student)
  • Tikendrajit Singh Scholarship: (For Manipur Student)
  • SD Barman Scholarship: (For Tripura Student)
  • Rani Gaidinliu Scholarship: (For Nagaland Student)
  • One Scholarship : ( For Mizoram Student)
  • One Scholarship: (For Arunachal Student)
    (Scholarship for Mizoram & Arunachal will be renamed after the name of Great Man from the concerned state. )
Central Govt. Aids:
Ministry of Minority Affairs have been providing Rs. 30,000 per year to the students belonging the Minority Community pursuing Engineering courses.

In order to inculcate professionalism among the Student Community. USTM have instituted several awards in this regard:
