An increasing globalization has moved the focus from national to international
logistics systems. Technological growth resulting in rapid information sharing and social
networking has boosted the chances to explore the opportunities around the globe both in
sourcing and selling. International competition has forced companies to be
market/customer oriented and cost effective at the same time. On the supply side,
domestic suppliers have been replaced by a complicated pattern of international sourcing.
On the demand side, international markets have become more important, and many
companies are reconfiguring their logistics strategy to serve international markets. Wi th
the huge growth in global business, understanding the shipment and clearance system is
vital for companies in designing the sourcing, manufacturing, transporting, storing,
selling and servicing models. Also it helps to achieve the potential savings from offshore
business.
In International context, sourcing, production and distribution have to take into account
differences and similarities between various markets. This includes transport systems,
distribution channels, border clearances, procedure, cost and statutory norms. T h i s
requires thorough understanding on various drivers of International Logistics, influencing
factors, challenges and options available to pound them.
Learning Objectives:
CII-Institute of Logistics is offering a two days Training Program on “Export and
Import Management” to empower the Supply Chain Managers on this trade. The aim of
this training program is to give the participants, thorough knowledge and understanding
of the global logistics environment, EXIM Procedures, available options and to enable
them to analyze and evaluate alternative ways of organizing and managing international
logistics systems.

Mr .Madhu Vasudevan: He has got masters in Marketing, has over 10 years experience in
Supply Chain Management. His past assignments include managing International Logistics –
planning, costing, routing cargo movement & customs clearances, strategic procurement,
metal hedging & contract, macro planning – Budgets, KPI, marketing plan, production &
distribution control, team management, training and L/C related banking activities in India and
overseas. He has experience in material planning & commercial management of multi-location
warehouses, bonded warehouses, and marine transportation, insurance and customs
operations in Middle East, Europe, USA, Africa, Far East and South Asia.
Mr. P. Mariadoss: Mariadoss is the Executive director of in trans cargo (freight Services)
private limited. He started his career with Air cargo operations, Customs clearance in Export
and Import. He is a visiting faculty for various B Schools and is a corporate trainer for few
industries. He has got decades of Experience in Global Logistics domain and has travelled
extensively. Mr. V. Gopalakrishnan - has got a B.E (Mechanical) & MBA (Operations) from CEG, Anna
Univ. and has got years of hands on experience in both Automotive Industry as Assistant
Manager – Purchase and new Product development and in IT Industry as Subject Matter
Expert for Oracle – e-Business Suite – SCM Modules. He has worked on various consulting
assignments for various industries in India and abroad.
Mr.K.Sivarajan is the Director, Indirect Taxes in BMR Advisors. He has considerable
experience in advising and representing clients in a range of indirect tax laws including central
Excise, Customs Service tax, VAT /Sales Tax, Foreign Trade policy and SEZ. He has more than
14 years of experience in tax practice.

The registrations can be made by sending an E-mail to gopalakrishnan@cii.in and subsequently
the participation fee in the form of Cheque / Demand Draft, drawn in favor of “Confederation of
Indian Industry” shall be couriered to the address given below.
Participation Fee is Rs. 9,000/- (per participant inclusive of all taxes). Fee is Non refundable and
should be made before 6th Feb 2012.
Organizations nominating 3 or more participants for the programme would be entitled to a 10%
discount on total delegate fees payable. All discounts are valid only if the delegate fee is
received before the commencement of the programme.
