Admission open for the Seventh Batch of short-term Certificate course in "MEDICAL TRANSCRIPTION"
Applications are invited from the students of Delhi University for short-term course on MEDICAL TRANSCRIPTION, to be started in the month of July 2011, at Keshavpuram Centre.
This course is first of its kind being offered by University of Delhi, which is designed to provide job opportunities in the sector of Medical Transcription, one of the fastest growing fields in health care :-
Medical transcription is the process whereby one accurately and swiftly transcribes medical records dictated by doctors and others, including history and physical reports, clinical notes, office notes, operative reports, consultation notes, discharge summaries, letters, psychiatric evaluations, laboratory reports, x-ray reports and pathology reports. MT or Medical Transcriptionist is a person who with knowledge of documentation standards assist physicians and specialty surgeons usually by transcribing, formatting, and proofreading their dictated medical reports. Medical transcription is an integral part of the American Healthcare Industry and is one of the few industries to not be affected by recession. The U.S. Department of Labor has projected that jobs in the medical transcription field will increase faster than average in the coming decade as the health care industry will continue to grow.

Eligibility
All the students of the colleges and departments of University of Delhi are eligible to apply for these courses. Students of School of Open Learning (SOL) and Non-Collegiate Women’s Education Board (NCWEB), University of Delhi, will be given preference.

FeeThe total fee for the course is Rs.15,000/
Stipend:Stipend may be given to the deserving candidates during internship. (Only those who fulfill the minimum attendance criteria will be eligible for internship)
DurationA total of 6 months program conducted as:
a. 4 months of classroom and computer lab training at Campus of Open Learning, KeshavPuram (conducted as 6 hours everyday, Monday to Friday)
b. 2 months of on-the- job training with MT-Forum, which is a group of leading Medical Transcription Companies.
Timing of the classes9.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. (Monday to Friday)
